Class fee: $150.00 includes pattern and all 12 classes.
Materials needed: (Please obtain these in advance. Yarn for this afghan will not be available at the class)
Size 7 knitting needles were used for the sample. If you knit tightly, you may want to use size 8.
Worsted weight yarn.
Depending on the size of the afghan/blanket you wish to make, you will need 3 skeins (100 grams each) for crib size 25X35 as shown in photo or 6 skeins for blanket size of Paton’s classic wool or similar yarn. Add more squares and skeins to increase to any desired size. Paton’s is available at Joann Fabrics and Michaels. It is also available online.
You can knit in all one color or use mixed colors. Sample is knit in Paton’s Classic Wool, colors; Winter White 00201, New Denim 77115 and Natural Mix 00229 This is pure wool, requiring hand washing, however, it blocks out perfectly to hold its shape.
Cascade 220 Superwash works nicely also! It is a wool that is machine washable. https://www.yarn.com/products/cascade-yarns-220-superwash-merino
Encore Worsted is another option, though mostly acrylic. That means it is washable but will not block out quite as well to hold the shape. It is a good option for those who are allergic to wool. https://www.yarn.com/products/plymouth-yarn-encore
